Hot tubs are fantastic investments for the whole family to enjoy.
However, it may surprise you how diverse they can be.
So, before you rush into buying a new hot tub, lets take a look at some of the key things to consider.
How large is the hot tub?
This is a big question as you may intend for lots of people to use it.
Sizes vary, and they’re usually referred to by capacity.
For example, you can have hot tubs with a three-person capacity, and also have ones with a six or seven-person capacity.
Ultimately, it depends on how big you need the tub to be.
This varies based on how many people you think will use it, as well as your budget – larger tubs are more expensive.
Of course, the hot tub features are essential!!
The whole point of a hot tub is to provide you with hydrotherapy massages.
These come from the jets of water pumped into the tub. You can read more about this here.
As such, all hot tubs come with this feature. But, there are additional features you may also want:
Lounger seats for laying down – some tubs come with none, some have 1, others may have 2 or more.
Bluetooth sound system, is an optional extra to connect Bluetooth devices and create either a party atmosphere or some relaxing sounds
LED lighting – again, you can choose to have this or not, as well as whether it changes colours
Smartphone controls – this is found on some of the more advanced and expensive hot tubs. Effectively, you can use your smartphone to control the temperature when you’re not in the tub. It’s ideal if you want to heat it up while you get ready to go outside
Your task is to consider what features are most important to you. Some people are happy with a basic hot tub that just provides hydrotherapy jets, and that’s it. Others want theirs to be a complete entertainment system for the whole family, but just remember the budget.
